A public healthcare initiative serving the people of interior Sindh
The Benazir Institute of Urology and Transplantation (BIUT) is a 300-bed tertiary care hospital located in Nawabshah, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sindh. Established as a public healthcare initiative by the Government of Sindh in collaboration with SIUT, BIUT provides completely free medical care in urology, nephrology, dialysis, and transplantation.
Modelled after the internationally acclaimed Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation, BIUT ensures that the people of interior Sindh — many of whom previously had no access to specialised renal care — receive world-class treatment without any financial burden.
With Consent
To become a centre of excellence in urological and renal sciences.
Providing free healthcare of international standards whilst nurturing the next generation of medical professionals in Sindh.
BIUT envisions a future where no citizen is denied life-saving treatment due to poverty or geography.
BIUT was inaugurated on 5 August 2023 by the Government of Sindh, marking a historic step in extending specialised renal healthcare beyond Karachi to the people of interior Sindh.
The project was conceived as part of the Sindh Government’s commitment to replicating the SIUT model — renowned worldwide for its free, dignified healthcare — in underserved regions. Nawabshah was chosen as the site, given its central location and the acute need for advanced medical facilities in the region.
Today, BIUT stands as a fully operational 300-bed facility equipped with modern operation theatres, a state-of-the-art dialysis centre, intensive care units, and comprehensive diagnostic services — all provided free of cost.
Inspired by the humanitarian philosophy of SIUT, BIUT provides quality healthcare and education with dignity, compassion and excellence.
